Omena Stew Recipe: A Perfect Pairing with Ugali 🍲👌

Ingredients:





• 1 cup omena (small fish)

•  1 medium tomato, diced

° 1 teaspoon curry powder

° 1 teaspoon ground cumin

°  1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

• 1/2 teaspoon salt

° 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

•  2 tablespoons vegetable oil

• 2 cups water

° Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)


Procedure:


1. Clean and prepare the omena: Rinse the omena in cold water, and drain well. Remove any debris or impurities.

2. Sauté the onions: Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they're lightly browned and fragrant.

3. Add the garlic and spices: Add the minced garlic, curry powder, cumin, turmeric, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

4. Add the omena: Add the prepared omena to the pan, stirring gently to coat with the spice mixture. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until the omena start to brown.



5. Add the tomato and water: Add the diced tomato and 2 cups of water to the pan. Stir well to combine.
