Delicious Shawarma Recipe: A Step-by-Step Guide

Making shawarma at home is easier than you think. With these simple steps, you can create a mouth-watering shawarma that will satisfy your cravings.

Ingredients

500g minced beef

3-4 sausage rolls (beef or chicken sausages)

2 tbsp vegetable oil or butter

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 tsp garlic paste (or 2 garlic cloves, minced)

1 tsp curry powder

½ tsp thyme

½ tsp black pepper or cayenne

Spices

Salt to taste

2-3 tbsp mayonnaise (for creamy texture)

3-4 large shawarma wraps or tortilla wraps

Procedure Steps

Step 1: Prepare the Minced Meat Sauce

Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil or butter in a pan over medium heat.

Sauté 1 small onion, finely chopped, and 1 teaspoon of garlic paste (or 2 garlic cloves, minced) until soft and fragrant.

Add 500g of minced beef and cook until browned and crumbly, stirring frequently to break it up.

Season with 1 teaspoon of curry powder, ½ teaspoon of thyme, ½ teaspoon of black pepper or cayenne, and salt to taste.

Let the mixture cook for 5-7 minutes until well-flavored and almost dry.

Step 2: Add Creamy Texture

Remove the pan from the heat and let it cool slightly.

Stir in 2-3 tablespoons of mayonnaise to give the minced meat sauce a creamy, moist texture.

Step 3: Prepare the Sausage Rolls

Grill or fry 3-4 sausage rolls (beef or chicken sausages) until browned.

Set them aside and use them whole or cut them in half, depending on your preference.

Step 4: Assemble the Shawarma

Lay a large shawarma or tortilla wrap flat on a clean surface or board.

Spoon 2-3 tablespoons of the minced meat sauce across the center of the wrap.

Place one whole sausage (or half, depending on size) over the minced meat layer.

Fold in the sides of the wrap slightly, then roll tightly from the bottom up like a log, making sure the filling is sealed inside.

Step 5: Toast the Shawarma

If desired, toast the wrapped shawarma for 1-2 minutes in a dry pan or sandwich press to seal and warm it up.

Use high-quality ingredients, such as fresh vegetables and lean meat, to ensure the best flavor and texture.

Experiment with different seasonings and spices to give your shawarma a unique flavor.

Serve your shawarma with your favorite toppings, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and pickles.

By following these simple steps, you can create a delicious shawarma that will satisfy your cravings. Enjoy!
