Gor Mahia brace for top-of-the-table showdown with surging Posta Rangers

The standout fixture in this weekend's FKF Premier League schedule will see record champions Gor Mahia lock horns with early pacesetters Posta Rangers in what promises to be a fiery clash at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo has his Posta side flying high at the summit after an unbeaten start to the new campaign — three wins and a draw giving them 10 points from four matches.

The mailmen hold a three-point cushion over second-placed Shabana, whom they stunned 2–1 at the Gusii Stadium in a midweek upset last week.

For Omollo, Sunday's encounter carries added emotion. The former Gor Mahia hard-tackling defender now faces the club where he carved out his name, and he knows well the weight that comes with facing K'Ogalo.

Gor Mahia, meanwhile, sit fourth on the log with six points from three outings. After a shock opening-day loss to Bidco United, they have steadied themselves under new head coach Charles Akonnor

However, questions linger over their attacking sharpness as they continue to search for fluency in the final third.

With the team still mourning the loss of their long-time patron Raila Odinga, whose passion and support defined much of their past success, Gor Mahia will be keen to deliver a performance worthy of his legacy.

Trouble brewing at Ingwe?

At the Ulinzi Sports Complex, it will be a "battle of the cats" as AFC Leopards face a familiar foe in their former coach Robert 'The Lion' Matano, now in charge of Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB).

Leopards are yet to register a win this season, though they remain unbeaten after three draws.

The stalemates have raised mild concern among the Ingwe faithful, who will be eager to see their team finally break the deadlock and ignite their campaign.
